Kim Johnson Obituary, Cause of Death – Beloved Wife, Mother, and Community Leader Dies at 64

The Ewing community is mourning the loss of Kimberly Johnson, who passed away on December 31, 2025, at the age of 64 after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Her passing has left a deep void in the lives of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her kindness and faith.

Kim was the cherished wife of Delbert Johnson for 38 years and the beloved mother of eight children. She was the heart of the Johnson family, leading with love, perseverance, and wisdom. Known as both the “keeper of hearts” and the “keeper of calendars,” she balanced tough love with tight hugs, always knowing when encouragement or sage advice was needed. Her loss highlights the immense love and beauty she brought into the world.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1961 to Clair Damon Boggs and Betty Jo Jordan Boggs, Kim was the third of four children. After graduating from Batavia High School, she studied architecture and design at the University of Cincinnati and Wilmington College. Alongside her husband, she built several business ventures, including County Concrete in Flemingsburg, Kentucky, which became the crown jewel of her entrepreneurial career.

Outside of work, Kim was a dedicated member of Community Family Church in Independence, Kentucky. She devoted her life to leading others, especially children, into the arms of Christ. She was happiest in her garden, growing and preserving food, and expressing her creativity through crafts and farm life.

Kim is survived by her husband Delbert, her children Billie Jo Wood, Dallas Johnson, Farmer Johnson, John Johnson, Sam Johnson, Danielle Johnson, Gavin Johnson, and JB Johnson, as well as her sisters Bobbi Bryant and Debbie Reardon. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother John Boggs.

Her funeral service was held on January 9, 2026, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home, with Pastor Tom Bates officiating. She was laid to rest in Elizaville Cemetery, with her sons and son-in-law serving as pallbearers.

Kim Johnson will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, faithful servant, and compassionate friend. Her legacy of love, faith, and perseverance will continue to inspire all who knew her. 🕊️
