The communities of Pennsylvania and Eastbourne have recently mourned the loss of women named Katie Martin, each remembered for her devotion to family, faith, and community.
Katie H. Martin, of Mifflinburg, Pennsylvania, passed away on October 26, 2025, at the age of 91. Her cause of death was natural causes at home. Born in New Holland, she was the wife of the late Rufus N. Martin, who had passed away just weeks earlier.
Together they raised a large family, and Katie is survived by 13 children, 77 grandchildren, 185 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Mountain View Old Order Mennonite Church, Groffdale Conference, and was remembered for her faith and dedication to her family. Funeral services were held October 30–31, 2025, with interment at the adjoining church cemetery.
Katie Martin, of Eastbourne, England, died in June 2026 at the age of 43. Her cause of death was not publicly disclosed. She was remembered as “much loved and will always be remembered,” with tributes highlighting her warmth, kindness, and the lasting impact she had on her family and friends. Her funeral service was held on June 12, 2026, at Eastbourne Crematorium in East Sussex.
Though they lived in different places and times, both women named Katie Martin are remembered for their compassion, resilience, and the love they shared with those around them. Their legacies endure through the families they nurtured and the communities they enriched.
